Are you considering a pop-up for your business? Learn how to become a pop-up host or user under the new City of Chicago pop-up license!
About this Event
Are you considering a pop-up for your business? Or is your business currently in a brick and mortar and looking to share space? Come check out this workshop in which the Institute for Justice Clinic on Entrepreneurship will give us the lowdown on Chicago's new pop-up license, which allows businesses to rent out their retail/restaurant space during off hours to other businesses who do not have a brick and mortar retail location. This license could be a great opportunity for small businesses like you to try out a brick and mortar shop without the commitment of purchasing or signing a long-term lease on a storefront. It’s also a great opportunity for small businesses who have a brick and mortar space and wouldn’t mind sharing costs and allowing another business to “pop up” in their space.
Like any Chicago business license, navigating the rules of the Pop-Up License can be tricky. IJ Clinic on Entrepreneurship is here to help! During the session, the IJ Clinic will cover how to become a pop-up host, a pop-up user, and a few other permit-related items to keep in mind when popping up, for example sign code regulations.
Light refreshments will be provided!
